InSite Consulting Conducting Economic Preparedness Study

What a busy week it has been for economic developers in the Northwest Kentucky area! Insite Consulting, an economic development consulting service based in South Carolina, visited Northwest Kentucky Forward and Union, Webster and McLean counties to help develop opportunities and diversification for economic growth for the region.

The federal government granted $32,000 to the Northwest Kentucky region for an economic development analysis and plan. The project’s overall cost is $40,000.  NWKF and the three counties each contributed $2,000.

Insite had a firsthand tour of each community and met with local economic development leaders in order to have a better understanding of the assets and challenges each county faces. Insite visited building sites and parks, conducted interviews and focus groups to evaluate the status of each county’s current infrastructure and planned infrastructure.

The completed project will result in an effort for Insite to determine NWKF and Union, Webster and McLean counties’ strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Insite will conduct a “custom-fit” report for each county which will provide shrewd marketing techniques and recommendations on ways to help existing businesses grow in addition to finding methods to recruit new businesses to the region.

Insite will be back in the region several more times before the final report is issued in December.
