NWKF is pleased to welcome the new Kentucky Utilities customer service facility to Morganfield.
This facility will represent the company’s 4th call center and will result in more than 50 jobs.
We will post more on this exciting news after the official announcement and ground breaking on 28 January in the Morganfield Industrial Park.

We spent our last full day in the CR today driving back to Prague and seeing the city. Unbelievable! It is an amazingly beautiful city. Even with a light drizzle and much cooler temperature it was amazing.
We went to Prague Castle which overlooks city. This labyrinth of more than 1000 years of building and rebuilding, includes a number of state buildings, museums and a breathtaking cathedral. Additionally, it offers breathtaking views of the Charles River and the city down below.

This is the second in a series of blogposts from our visit with our sister region in Olomouc, Czech, and participation in meetings and a trade show there.
Each region made presentations this morning on their approaches to economic development and what their areas had to offer. One of the most important insights that I took away from this was how dramatically different most of our European friends approach economic development compared to the NWKF approach specifically, and the American-approach generally.

NWKF is in Olomouc, Czech Republic, this week! We have a sister region relationship with the Olomouc region and have been invited to participate in their “Partner Days” events this week. Along with the greater Green River Region, the Olomouc region partners with similar size regions from France, Serbia, Finland, Hungary, and Poland. In addition to meetings on economic development, we will all be participating in a trade and industry show be sponsored by the City of Olomouc.

Recently, a friend asked me why it seemed like I was always on the road. The reason is two-fold:
1) I AM always on the road!
2) to take the Northwest Kentucky story to companies considering new location decisions and to the consultants who assist companies in making these decisions.

NWKF will be in Atlanta this week participating in a number of calls and events. Tonight (Monday) we will be participating in the E.ON US Get Connected reception at Rathbuns. We appreciate E.ON’s economic development team partnering with KentuckyUnited and their communities for this event.
The rest of the week we will be calling on companies as part of the KentuckyUnited team, as well as calling on our own projects in the area.

Plugged-In’s Energy Week got off to a great start today with two very successful events.
A BioEnergy Symposium sponsored by Plugged In and the Kentucky Energy Cabinet featured a number of speakers focused on the opportunities for BioEnergy in Kentucky, especially in Northwest Kentucky.

In conjunction with the biofuels symposium, Plugged In Energy Initiative will also be hosting its second annual Energy Education Week. This week-long event focuses our area schools on the science of energy as well as local opportunities in energy production, research, and workforce development.
